Good Ways to Pass the Time When You Are Stuck Indoors

Whether it’s Spring showers, allergies, or the recent Coronavirus keeping you indoors, here are 7 ways to beat boredom when you’re stuck inside.

Learn how to make an origami USAF plane, then race them!

If you have kids or grandkids, this is a great way to pass the time. Make it together by watching this tutorial, and then head to a clear area to see whose plane flies the farthest.

Sort through your old military photos and scan them for family…then add them to our site for 2.5M other veterans to enjoy!

There’s never been a better time to crack open your photo albums and reminisce on old times. If you’re not sure how to upload photos on our site but would like to share them, watch this tutorial.

Again, this is a great way to pass the time with your children or grandchildren by telling them interesting stories about your service days.

Practice coughing into your sleeve.

Build up some important muscle memory for preventing germs from spreading, plus, you can count it as an arm workout!

Update Your VetFriends Profile

vetfriends.com profile view with picture, info box, and ribbon display box.

We frequently add new features that you can update your profile with – take advantage of them! Not only is it a great way to keep memories of your personal Military experience alive, but it can improve the chances of an old buddy finding and reaching out to you.

Do Some Online Shopping

Whether you’re just window (screen?) shopping or on the hunt for something, check here first to see if your favorite stores have discounts for Veterans and Military Personnel.

Plan a Virtual Reunion

Although you may not be able to plan a physical reunion right now, you can still plan a Skype one! Find your old unit buddies, set up a time and date on our reunions calendar, and catch up from the comfort (and safety, in some cases) of your own home.

Feel like writing?

Type up a blog post on a Military/Veteran topic of your choice that is at least 300 words for a chance to be featured on our page as a guest contributor! You can email your finalized draft to publicrelations@vetfriends.com.
